The developers of the company Evil Birds announced a significant update to the Backfire drone, which now has nearly triple the payload capacity.

In addition, the maximum range of the equipment has been extended, increasing from up to 160 km to about 200 km, significantly expanding its operational radius for strike missions.

To achieve this performance, the drone’s design was extensively redesigned, including changes to the fuselage shape, redistribution of components, and improvements to the control, communication, and launch systems. These changes made the operation simpler and increased the team’s safety and the drone’s durability during missions.

With the capacity to carry between 14 and 17 kg and a larger bomb bay, the Backfire drone has become efficiently used against targets such as command centers, logistical depots, air defense systems, and electronic warfare equipment.

According to the company, more than 50 missions have already been carried out with prototypes and early versions of the updated model, the result of about a year and a half of continuous development.
